I was lucky to have known her. She was such an inspiration and full of life. Still driving to everywhere and aware and interested in everything. She will be missed by many.

Put on your dazzle, your pizzazz, look everyone in the eye. USE your face and state your case. Love the human race. Join the ACLU. Get up, get out, let good work be a workout. Check in to your local habitat. ACT as if you mattered. You do. Jump into this river of energy that upheld Selma. She is just a little ahead of us, now. Hug and kiss, Selma!

Yes, her wonderful energy & enthusiasm will be very much missed and I will especially miss knowing what kind of hat she is wearing in heaven today :)

253, that's lovely; Selma would be pleased. I wish I had known her more and better. I wonder how it is to act as if one mattered in this town, rather, I wonder how it is to matter here that seems so centered on itself and the in group(s). Selma bridged many groups and divides and already she is very missed.

Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of the world. It's that simple. However, being Selma was so much more than these three guiding principles -- it was an essence she alone was born with that all who knew her could appreciate and strive to emulate but never quite attain. You either got it or you don't and Selma had it -- in spades! Santa Barbara would not be what it is without Selma. The loss is huge and we all will have to struggle with the void.......and do our individual best to make a positive difference in this world.

I would get energized just sighting her through town- reminding me to get moving about what i cared about. We were lucky for many years-- blessings to you, selma!
