Bravo! I love found objects, and the more obscure and useless, the better! I collect shards of pottery I find at the beach...I like to imagine they have come from very far away, and some of the patterns suggest I might be right, or seriously deluded! Okay, gotta go and replenish my collection of marbles, heart shaped rocks, round rocks and...

I think your bottle cap collection is gorgeous. I have a collection of scissors - approximately 600!! I mostly collect the older ones because the newer scissors have plastic handles. Last week I was trying to buy a pair on eBay. They were in perfect condition, from Germany and about100 years old. Unfortunately someone else "won" the bidding and got them for $35 and my max bid was $30, which I should have made higher, but that's the way the ball bounces when bidding on eBay. I was disappointed to say the least, but then I stopped by a thrift store in Goleta and I found TWO pairs of scissors from pre-war Japan, which would make them about 80 years old or so. It's sooooooo much fun to have a hobby....even if the hobby seems odd to everyone else.

We've been given bottle cap wind chimes and a bird feeder that had flattened bottle cap shingles. Love found objects made useful again... At one point, I started a penny collection of found pennies, recording that date of each. One day I found 17 pennies in 10 minutes and threw in the towel.

I had a girlfriend collected buttons..She had all kinds and thousands of them, they were worth alot of money...I was taking them to storage one day they were all in the back of a U-Haul truck I rented just to haul them. A young gal in a convertable Mustang ran a stop sign in front of me...The truck spun and so did this collection..Anyway she didn't find out until she left me for another guy and they went to the storage unit to get her stuff..That was a Good Day. I like your bottle caps they bring back memories..Thank You.

I collected bottle caps when I was a kid ,,, some folks thought it was a little strange but I found it interesting. I had dozens and dozens of different kinds from beer and "pop" bottles, over a thousand total. After a few years and as the collection of caps began to ferment in my closet, I finally decided to pitch them all and concentrated on my stamp collection. Call me a young eccentric...
