Roger - This same thing is happening to me almost every day. I find changes everywhere and wonder if it is my taste buds that are degenerating and not the food? Butter and margarine taste horrible and I cannot stand the odour of cooking meat. I have tried dozens of coffee brands and they all leave me wanting. Gone is the glow of that first morning rush.

Poor dog. He deserved a better end for his unconditional love and loyalty. He should have been worth living for or at least a care arrangment plan. Whenever I felt down and my life hopeless I would look at my dog and get back on track. He saved my life.

You touched on a few points, first of all Maxwell coffee sucks, second Pabst is terrible to, where did you acquire these tastes. I don't drink anymore either, but would draw the line at Bud, ales were my beer.As for as the changing of times, this has been happening for a while. People have become to dependent in my opinion on Tech, supermarkets, cars, ect. Very few learn the survival skills needed if we went without, if we had war here or lost power. People don't understand why I take wilderness survival training, own guns, know how to live off the land. Obviously I don't have to but better safe than sorry in my opinion. Seems a trend with pedophiles lately, I think they have always been there just people were scared to come forward. We cannot do more to watch our children, just punish the violators harsher, or give them a lead head if it was my own.

Trader Joe's has some delicious coffee. Buy the beans and use their in house grinder. I like the Cafe Pajaro. I believe you got a TJ's gift card from Santa, at least that's what an elf told me...

Try loose Sencha green tea. It cleanses the skin, the system and the psyche. That is if you can face first thing in the morning a brew that looks and tastes like boiled alphalfa.

Dude.... Maxwell House has ALWAYS tasted like freeze dried cow chips, you're just getting your taste buds back. The price of coffee has gone through the roof, like everything else that's shipped or imported, so store bought brands are tossing quality for affordability, while still extracting maximum profit of course.

Go for the smaller brands that still believe in selling quality over shareholder equity but beware of Trader Joe's as it has become just another division of a corporate behemoth.

Roger, Vons sells a brand called Foglifter; It comes in bean form, so ya gotta grind it, but it is very good. I used to love Yuban, and they are terrible now too.

That Trader Joes gift card went for some Trader Joes coffee as well as a few otter thands. When your as big as I nothing lasts..But I have enough of that coffee left for two more pots then it's UGH House until pay day...Foglifter I remember that from years ago. I was only talking about the beer because it's taste started going years ago. I thought it was my stomach resisting all the beer I drank but Miller and Coors was always great, even the High Life though cheap it may be. It's still good people tell me. I wish they made better near beer. I remember years ago all the cheapo beer was good, Bush, PBR, Falstaf,Strohs, just to name a few...Hamms.. I go back and forth..Will when I was younger I could live off the land but now I'm so big I can live off myself. The trend with child molesters..They are the new Mental Illness People are getting grants treating them and taking them in. Not many organazations will take them in because "they say" there is no cure for someone that molests a child. Thing is always check Megans Law.com That way you always know who's in the neighborhood.

It's called Morning Foglifter and it's by SLO Roasted. Comes in a shiny brown bag. You can get it ground or beans; I prefer the beans. The stores jacked up the price for awhile and I stopped buying it, but the prices are reasonable again. I get mine at Albertson's. Shouldn't cost more than $9 for a 12-ounce bag.

Trader Joe's coffee is really bad and should be a great substitute for Maxwell House.

Roger it might be your coffee-maker and not the coffee. When my favorite ground blend began tasting like cow chips with a side of cigarette ashes, a friend recommended that I run vinegar through the coffee maker a few times. That took care of the problem; now my coffee tastes as good as new.

Maybe their slogan for the 21st century is, "Good to the last plop!"
