Great shots David, agree with Roger, that last one of the epic wipe out is awesome! I'm having some lens envy seeing all those monsters, but I just can't imagine bucking up for one...I am hoping to send my child to college!

I remember Big Wednesday. I lived on Miramar and actually went out bodysurfing that day...the waves were manageable on that beach and in close...When they shot the movie I, (and 100's of others) was an extra...we met at Earl Warren Showgrounds very early in the morning and were bussed to the Ranch. It was flat the days of the filming, and we all got paid to stand on the beach and pretend to be amazed by the waves...I recall the catering was really impressive. I kept my paycheck, which was about $50 for two days work...then in a moment of desperation I cashed it for groceries or the laundromat or something equally necessary...oh, those were the days.

I think the majority of average surfers get more waves settling on something lessor than Rincon. Saturday some other spots were a lot less crowded and probably had more of a fun factor.

I'm with you, 138...lots of less crowded surf with better waves elsewhere. Aqua...I felt intimidated walking around with my little 300 mm lens, but it worked.
