Hey Rodger, yeah sad to see the DUI's up, a preventable crime that effects everyone in our community. As for the gun law, you got it wrong. You cannot carry a loaded handgun unconcealed with a permit anymore, not unloaded. What would be the point of carrying an unloaded gun? But you can carry loaded rifles and shotguns with the permit, so guess the gun racks are going to be more present on cars. I seriously doubt anyone with a permit will walk into a store like Trader Joes or a bank with a loaded rifle, even if you had a permit, you will cause a scene. I happen to have the permit to carry a unconcealed handgun, you have to go through numerous screenings and not have any gun related crimes in your past. Most people do not notice when I carry it, it looks like a cell phone or something because it is in a holster. I feel more safe with it in cities like Oakland or parts of LA when traveling, around here it is unnecessary. Just my opinion.

roger, we had a cat that had to have her ears clipped (her ears were pure white) & we faithfully put sunscreen on her. She lived a fine long life, but we thought she was embarrassed by it.

The local Goleta K-Mart and La Cumbre Santa Barbara Sears are not on the list of closures in California. This was announced last week in the local papers and KEYT. Wake up, Roger :-)

@SBJULES, Did you let your cat go back outside after he got his ears clipped? My cat is white too. He loves to lay in the Sun. I got the sun block but haven't let him out yet..

Love Roger, just as he is. Naysayers, be gone! Now, Roger, I've noticed so many speeding cars and motorcycles since the holidays have been over, it's petrifying. And people following too closely, right on the tail of one's car. This is happening on the 101 and on the streets of Santa Barbara, even in the Ralph's parking lots. (Wish they had the parking attendants that Trader Joe's has.) No police officers around when you most wish for one to bust these drivers. Really risky behavior that could cost people their lives or great bodily injury. What to do?

Any news about a rollover accident this morning at Peabody Grade School? I heard the victim was out of the vehicle. Nothing more. Then I heard there may be a pedestrian involved. True?
