Lot's of memories from that island. The falls are incredible as is the the Na Pali coast. Was there any good waves on the south side? Aloha and thanks for the pics.

The Kalalau Trail is awesome but can be slippery and steep in wet weather. Be warned! The trail was mud and we barely made it back to the trailhead as the sun set. The idea of spending a wet, hungry night on the trail was less than appealing, but we had no flashlights and no desire to slip in the darkness to the surf below. Kee beach is our favorite, thanks for the photos.

Great pictures! Where did you stay and did you like it? Seems like more families are meeting up in Hawaii for the holidays, what a wonderful way to all come together at one beautiful place and enjoy each others company. Was just on Maui where there was a family of 50 Canadians all staying at the same hotel in Napili. They said it's something they do every year and it's the highlight of their year. I can only imagine:-)

Beautiful, I lived on the Kona Coast in 1971-72. On Xmas eve had a "green flash" at sunset. Looks like you all had a wonderful Kalikimaka. The Edhat flag/bag really travels well, I never leave home without it. Mahalo for sharing your trip.

OP here. @ 931, the waves on the south shore were incredible, but we didn't do any surfing. None of us are experienced surfers and didn't really want to start by jumping in the deep end. @ Channelfog, we actually got stuck hiking the last 3/4 mile with our flash lights. We got through it, but it wasn't ideal at all. It felt very dangerous. Not to mention mosquitos, frogs, and mice flood the trail at night. We all breathed a sigh of relief when we finally got back on level ground. Next time, we know to hit the trail head much earlier. @ 945 We stayed in Poipu on the south side of the island. We absolutely loved it. It blew all our expectations. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime. Thanks everyone for the nice comments!
