Get a tattoo that YOU want, wear whatever shoes you want to, play around with fun make up, style your hair the way you want.....ROCK IT, who cares about what others think. People need to get over their negativity and focus on themselves rather than others. Life's too short to be so negative.

I'm not a huge tattoo fan, but if I ever decided to get one, I'd try to get one similar to the one that's on your foot! @963. Very pretty!

I'm just going out on a limb here, I would imagine that big 'ol Blue watch might be something you'd see on Aquaholic's wrist.

I am lovin' all the different styles!

Personally I love tattoos, makeup, and jewelry but now I think I am going to go hang out with the wine drinking hiker... now that is really my thing. :)

The gecko ring is awesome! The foot tattoo is as well.

When I got my tat the artist said she wouldn't tat on my foot because the skin cells regenerate faster on hands and feet and my tattoo would quickly deteriorate. I got the art turned 180 degrees so it goes up my leg from my ankle, instead of from my ankle down the top of my foot. I think sometimes that I should have walked out and found a different artist, but I love my artwork the way it is.

I'm the OP with the sleeve and cant believe my post caught this much attention, a lot of different opinions and great feedback, thanks. As for submitting pics of your tats what a great idea. Not to be rude but i didn't see anything that spectacular. The foot tattoo was obviously recently done and came out well. The body tat with the birds and flowers has a nice flavor to it. The last one with the guy lifting weights looks like all homemade tattoos or prison work. Anyways keep them coming, I am excited and like to see what the local flavor here in SB is like. Although I am not a big fan of piercings, women with them on their lip is sometimes hot, but guys who stretch their earlobes and insert plugs is kind of off the scale. Just my 2 cents, love it all and glad you are proud to wear your art. Maybe you could also share the artist that did them and what parlor if in SB.

Did anyone else notice that the Lilies (if that's what they're supposed to be) on the tattooed girl by the pool have one too many petals? They should have six (well, 3 petals & 3 sepals), not 7! What a shame. Oh, and that hummingbird is going to be a pterodactyl in a few years ;)

I like tattoos, but most people seem to have awfully low standards.

@015 don't jump to conclusions. Most, if not all the tats on the weight lifter were done by several world-renown tattoo artists. Additionally, absolutely none were done in or near any prison facilities whatsoever.

226036P - I know that person and the bird is for an aunt who passed away on mother's day please be more mindful.

To people who use the excuse that people wont like their tattoos when they are older or that they will sag.... Well I wont like my old saggy skin anyways so at least it will be decorated with pretty art.

OP the weightlifter tats include work by Paul Booth, Marcus Pacheco, Freddy Negrete and Jef Whitehead. Look them up...

Nice assortment, surprised I didn't see stars as those are so trendy now. I got an assortment of tats I accumulated throughout the years and if I have any advice it is you get what you pay for. Shop around, check out portfolios, see if they have an art background. Since tattoos are so popular nowadays a lot of people are getting into the business because it is so profitable. If you get a cheap quote for a tattoo it is probably going to be done by an apprentice. Basically an apprentice rarely has a large portfolio, is learning how deep to draw the needle, is learning shading, practices on himself, and YOU. You are going to be sporting this artwork for life so don't due it spontaneously, if your drinking, and think it out. Good luck and enjoy them, if you have a story behind your tat all the better.

Thank you, 120. I wish my kid's dad thought like you (and all the responsible tattoo artists out there- I sincerely thank them, too). Now he's paying bucks for a removal. To the kids- it's your choice, but wait until your frontal lobe has developed!!!

226081P - You have unknowingly revealed the real problem. People think a good sob story or "meaning" makes up for crummy work, but it simply isn't true. Good art, tattoo or otherwise, should speak for itself. Whatever it means to the wearer has nothing to do with its accuracy or quality, and it should be open to assessment independent of that.

~951, so what I hear you saying is that people need to be more focused on themselves? Seriously? The past 40 years or so of that hasnt been enough fer ya, huh?
Yep, thats the problem today, people just aren't self absorbed enough....

I definately agree with 180P!!! Many tatoos, especially on the neck, look like the person hasn't bathed in a long time. It will be interesting to see these in 20-30-40-50 yrs, when they wrinkle and look totally different.
