Were the pics from up north, just guessing from the hoodie and booties? Surfing brings me so much joy, and getting barreled, tube riding, and seeing how deep you can get and make it out is a delicate dance. Only a surfer knows the feeling and nothing compares except maybe making love to your girlfriend. Thanks for the pics and lets pray to the surf Gods for a good winter.

Great pics. Nothing better than a clean tube ride, ok maybe on the nose of the board! Reminds me of my days long ago when I surfed big waves on a long board with no leash. We had to be master ocean swimmers back in the day retrieving boards often.

Wow, great pictures. I would guess that these pictures were taken at the Ranch. Does anyone how to get a permit to use the boat hoist. I heard the surfing is really good on a south swell . Also the halibut fishing is suppose to be good. I was going to call the State Parks about the hoist but I thought it might be a county thing. Thanks everybody.

Nice shots! Yes, I agree that no other sport compares to surfing. You are on a moving surface in a medium that is moving and constantly changing, with nothing but your own power to be "one with nature." These photos capture that special moment. I also like that in these shots the surfers are flowing WITH the wave, not thrashing against it. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful! Nice clean waves .... not much surf forecasted on the horizon for SB, so it's nice to view pictures of better days. Heads up to all: come to the Surf Fest and Swap Meet on Saturday and you'll be surrounded by the surf culture. It's across the street from Leadbetter and goes from 9-3.
