I also hate seeing all the phone & power lines at all. That said, lines are better than background electric/ radio waves everywhere. It can't be good for human health to be constantly dosed by increasing wireless signals. I know that even though I'm not consciously aware of it, whenever the power goes out, I can hear the quiet (and I live in a quiet house and neighborhood), and it feels calm and peaceful. Maybe buried lines are the solution, but I'll miss the occasional power or phone pole, crooked or straight.
