Like your photos, especially the seagulls at sunset. Thanks for the historic photo, reminds me of camping with my family in the 60's. We lived further south in Los Angeles and would come up to Carp and camp a couple of times a year...when you could actually get a campsite! My brother and our friends would always stub our toes first thing out of the car, I suppose because we never got to go barefoot at home! After a band-aid fix we would head over to the railroad tracks with our pennies and wait for the next train to smash them into the treasured shapes! I used to love walking up Linden Ave. and getting something from The Spot, or candy at Robitaille's.....ahhhh, sweet memories of youth.

Just think, they pay $35/night to set up the tent and you get the wafting bacon smells for free!

Great post, Dave. You reinforce my belief that Carp is cool.

Nicely written article and great photos too. But sheesh - tents and trailers cheek by jowl! That isn't my idea of camping in solitude in the wide open spaces.

Thanks for the nice comments all. Candidly, I'm with you, Auntie S....my preference is camping in wide open spaces with a few close friends and lots of stars.
