Interesting that eggplant follows cucumber in your lineup; both were among the Big Three in Beijing, China, during our stay there in '99. Both high-yield crops that helped sustain the po'folks throughout the fall and winter. Memory of Beijing: all over town, piles of eggplant (round purplish ones), cucumbers and cabbage (Napa type).
So, cabbage next week?
