I remember Joe Camel, but NOT the 'I'd walk a mile' ads - I guess that was before me (I'm 27 y/o). 479P: :::Snicker:::

Most religions have traditions based in fantasy. If you want to pretend that horses and camels are relevant to your civil union than go right ahead. Prolly just as relevant as the man in the sky.

Only one hump for a wedding? Is that an insult to the bride?

Goleta is in Santa Barbara County, so "in Santa Barbara" is OK. You don't have to be old to remember Joe Camel, he only disappeared a couple years ago. What you have to be old for is, "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", the ad that went out quite a few years ago.

Santa Barbara might be open minded and liberal, but the Bacara is in Goleta! As much as they hate to admit it...

"Question: What is a wedding without a camel? Answer: Not tacky" Really ? Perhaps it was for a wedding. It is called Baraat and is a bridegroom's wedding procession. For some Hindu's, having the groom arrive on a large animal like a camel, horse, or even elephant is considered the highest respect for the bride, her family and if his family can afford it - it's expected. But hey -Santa Barbara is so open minded and liberal....you probably forgot.

Ah geez, really??? Gone are the days when the only thing out of the ordinary was the day our German shepard Rolled on a dead seal at Haskell's beach.
