What beautiful hounds!! I agree, Bassets are the best! And rescued Bassets are even more amazing! Thank you for saving these wonderful pups, and for sharing them with us! Shameless plug... incidentally the Basset Hound rescue in Acton CA, the biggest one in the world, is in need of help these days. Great pictures - I especially liked the last one. Everyone needs a nice dry martini at the end of a long hard day :-). Don't rescues just make the greatest addition to your family. All our dogs have been rescues. Wouldn't do it any other way.

ADORABLE!!!! My couch has also been confiscated by our big 'mutt', who is a rescue. He loves it at night, gives me a heavenly look in the morning as if to say, 'thank you for letting me crash here'!

Truly groovy dogs!! Years ago I read about a man who said he grew up with Bassets; his father told him to always own a Basset Hound because when you come home from a bad day at work you just look at your dog and know his was even worse. They do have a soulful, sad looking face!

Freddy & Ginger's human here. All our dogs have been rescues too and we agree that they're the best. I strongly agree with other posters about Daphneyland. It's is a wonderful operation. I donate and you can too, very easily, via PayPal. Any amount helps them keep things going. You can also go to their website at www dot daphneyland dot com and see all the sweeties that need their own forever homes. Be warned though - bassets shed and drool. I swore I'd never have a dog that shed or drooled but we couldn't be happier with how things have turned out. I promise you will be too.
