Good luck. Our boxer is a couch potato.

All 3 of mine love the couch or a comfy chair!

You might get her to stay off the couch... when you're home. I tried with my two dogs, and finally realized it was a losing battle that was making everyone cranky. It wasn't unusual to come home and find both of them snoozing, sometimes on their backs, either on the couch or my bed. Pick your battles wisely. Cover your couch with a sheet or blanket, and enjoy your time with her. PS - dogs like to sleep on an elevated surface... beds and couches - prime real estate.

Easier to just get a couch cover......the best any of my dogs have learned is- "...oh for some reason she doesnt want us on the couch when shes home.....ok" - i used to do things like place brooms on he couch while i was at work, etc. And somewhere in my old pics is one of a lab puppy about the same age as your pup, contentedly curled on the couch, surrounded by broomsticks-----

Cover the couch, let the dog be, and your stress level will plummet. But by all means cover the couch, because there is nothing quite so appealing as the leftovers from a dog licking his butt for 20 minutes on the couch cushions.

Love Tonks -- cover the couch and let her be. My boy has his own chair in the family room. It is covered and I have two covers so I can periodically change it out and wash it. But -- big but -- he cannot roam the rest of the house when I am not home. I can close him in the kitchen/family room area and he has his own dog door for getting in and out to the outside.

Make sure she has a bed of her own, eventually she will use it.

I LOVE it when my animals sit beside me on the couch. However, if you are really serious about keeping her off the couch try reading "Clicker Training for Dogs" by Karen Pryor. No punishment, all fun and reinforcement.

Any chance Tonks is a HP reference? Love the name regardless, but just curious. :) She's a cutie.

I have a boxer friend that sleeps on two round beds - stacked like a double decker sandwich. He loves it.

Oh Tonks, you're such a cutie! How nice of you to share the sofa with your loving and indulgent human.
