And of course the "Douglas Family Preserve" is really the Wilcox Property...

I still call it Hendry's Beach and the Wilcox property and will always do so.

We still call Henry's "The Pit" and the Wilcox "The Nursery".

It would be nice if they outlawed alcohol. Especially since that stabbing.

To prevent stabbings and other violence, just bar alcohol for men 21-35 years old. That's the demographic that does 95% of the violence in society. Let the rest of us enjoy a cool brew at the beach in safety.

Anyone else remember the big, feral cats that had a home at Hendry's? There was a house built for them and dedicated volunteers who fed them morning and evening. I miss those cats.

and remember the look out behind the restaurant? It has been closed for many years while masonry "art" walls and steps are built. Reinforcing is not epoxy coated or stainless steel and has very little mortar cover; it will crack and spall soon, probably before completion. Does anyone know when that will be or how money much has been spent?

When visitors come to town, a walk on Hendry's and lunch or Happy Hour at The Boathouse is high on the list. I adore everything about this hidden gem, even the dogs that are supposed to be on leashes on the leash section but aren't. Also love that at low tide I can do a 5 mile roundtrip walk to the Hope Ranch beach facilities and back.

And technically, the dog beach is east of the slough. If you go south, you're in the ocean!
