How wonderful that a book is in the works, & that you are giving a presentation on this. Humor really is the best defense against poor taste and bush abuse... or is that a political joke too nowadays?

Congrats, Billy! In your book, will you address basic growth habits and healthy pruning practices, so homeowners know what to NOT pay for, when they hire a "tree trimmer" or "gardener"? I remember the old adage from hort class: "never leave a stub you could hang a hat on." Is this still true?

Yes, I hope it will also say what _should_ be done as well as showing the shouldn'ts! The Santa Clara redwoods are unbelievable and the simplest/best instruction would be, "don't!"

Billy G here. The book is still a work in progress, and I'm sure that a publisher and editors will have something to say about the final content, but this will not be a how-to book. There are enough really great ones out there, the world doesn't need me to regurgitate that. CAH will be the book you read so you can make the most of everyone else's design book and sort the good stuff from the BS. It'll be a book equally comfortable on the night stand or the porcelain tank.
