Forgot to mention the wonderful landscapes in the neighborhood. Most exotic, beautiful and rare plants everywhere. Walking the steep hills and exploring all the streets was well worth the effort, because the reward was viewing the interesting landscapes. Not to mention the exercise !! Wonderful Summerland. How I miss you.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s in summerland and have many happy memories. Going up and down the hills everyday to go to the beach. It was a very close knit community. Yes sad for the tar on the beach...but as kids we didn't care.
