i agree on peet's coffee. starbucks puts me to sleep. another trick is ordering a triple espresso on ice and putting your own milk and sugar in it. i get out of there for 2.40 or so and they will put it in any size glass you want.

How about she spends $15 on a travel thermos, brings her own coffee in the morning, and uses the money she saves to take a vacation in a less expensive town?

As a former daily Starbucks consumer, I can tell you that it costs a good deal more in both Las Vegas and in Salt Lake City - where everything else is cheaper, by the way. New York is also more expensive. So I am sure there are plenty of other places. But for this one thing, Santa Barbara is not the most expensive, and I find that interesting.
