I had a kitty with a "broken meower" too! Thanks for sharing your story.

I too had a cat with a 'broken meower' (great term) and another who was a confirmed faucet drinker (learned to turn it on). You brought back good memories.

I had a kitty that used to whiper "meow". Love your kittys! And I'm not so sure about orange kittys being the sweetest....mine is God awful, but I still love him : )

I also have an orange female kitty , named Hobbes...What a coincidence...she was a feral youngster , who has a very loving relationship with me , but is afraid of most people. She also has a squeeky little "meow "

The photo of "Hobbes" napping is very cute, but what size shoe does she wear? (Maybe you should rename her "Big Foot," or would that be rude?) Regardless; both kitties are beautiful and look very content!

I have 2 kitty sisters who like to drink from the faucet, but one of them, Abby, knows how to turn it on. Lucy will sit and meow until Abby jumps up and nudges the handle on so they can both get a drink. Now I'm waiting for her to learn to turn it off!

I'm Hobbes' owner (if such a term can be applied to cats...):

To 151: That sounds just like these guys (mom was a feral cat my friend took in); how bizarre! I actually thought Hobbes was a boy when I first got her (I was told most orange cats are boys), but the vet set me straight a few days later, but the name had already stuck. My Hobbes is also very shy, but quickly warms up to most people.

And to all of you posters who taught your cats how to operate the faucet...how'd you manage that one? And can they turn off the faucet when they're done...that's the most important part!

Love both your kitties! Meows are so unique. My long-time pure black (19 yrs.) kitty gives what sounds like a pigeon coo. I have always been partial to orange kitties, too. I think they are special!

I've always called the orange kitties "Marmalade Cats".

So sweet. There aren't words for that level of cuteness. Reminds me of a Goldie we lived with when I was child. That cat would eat anything, couldn't leave anything on the counter. I think he had been homeless before he adopted us. He was also a sink dweller.

So cute! What is it about sinks and cats? I had a wonderful cat, Daisy, who has since gone on to kitty heaven that was obsessed! It got so bad that we couldn't let her in the bathroom.
