How did you post this if your computer was taken away? Put your dishes in the dishwasher. You mom is not a maid.

Not enough time to put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher, eh? Maybe you should give up playing sports.

Could be worse, Ralph. I knew someone who would put the dirty dishes in the offending roommate's bed.

I know its a tough concept, but try thinking about how much work your mom does putting the food into those dishes; try giving her the hand she deserves, and shouldn't have to remind you about, kid.

Moms, don't forget the next womanly trick. If a male ever does put the dishes in the dishwasher, you get to say :"the dishes were already clean. Now I have to wash them all over again just because you had to put dirty things in with the clean ones" This may also work with a laundry basket.

THIS is why you will never be happy and girls, or boys, will not date you. Change your ways, lad.

Hmmm and here I was going to lock up my dishes so I could use them (clean) and put paper plates in the cabinet.

my son's advice? If we had fewer dishes, there'd be less for me to wash...

You'll be eating off paper plates soon. Learn to like it. One more successful tactic used in communal living situations is that everyone has ONE plate, ONE fork, and ONE knife unique to them, and if you leave them out, you'll find them on your bed.

Kids need to learn at a young age and it will become automatic by the time they hit the "terrible teens". My children started doing their own laundry at 10, and taking turns doing dinner dishes (no dishwasher). Never understood parents who wait on their children, doesn't teach them how to become an adult. Amazes me that going off to college without knowing how to wash their clothes is a common fault.

A real mother would just take a second and clean the dishes. Being hurtful towards you child is unacceptable. Obviously the mother has issues if she feels put out by doing her job and also wont communicate about it. Mothers are supposed to do everything for their children and husbands with a smile and positive attitude. I heard that from Dr Laura!

Hmmm, I only hope Joyful is joking... My teenage boy is the same, and so he gets charge by mom to clean up after him. The same as when he moves out in a couple of years and would have to pay a maid. Works well for both of us!

My son did all the dishes, cleaned the counters, etc. last night after I served a big chicken dinner to my family. He shares in the cooking, too, and does laundry. He is 34, forced to live with his parents, due to ill economy of these hard times. He has a daughter, my beautiful granddaughter who lives here with us. It's not a smooth ride for my son, but I'm immensely proud of who he is.

You sound like my 45 year old husband, his mother did everything for him, and within our 1st yr of marriage, I should of left. Trust me not every woman will put up with this cra_. Only a sorry one like me. Trust me, if you don't get your act together now, she will always remind you what a slob you are. Clean it up buddy, get your act together and do your shores, your mother is not a door mat, give her more respect that she deserves.
