Thanks, Chiang Mai is next on my list. I just returned from Myanmar (I highly recommend it) and fell in love with Southeast Asia.

I lived in Bangkok for two years when I was in the 10th & 11th grade ('73-'75). Sadly, we never made it to Chiang Mai. However, 'Chiang Mai Ladies" would go door to door selling handcrafted clothing, and I bought a shirt and dress one time. I love all your details. Returning to Thailand is on my 'bucket list', and now I'd love to go to Chiang Mai more than ever, thanks to your report.
