Probably old hat to those who hail from the East, but for those of us who have never lived in a really cold climate, these are fascinating. Thank you.

The third photo is scary, I'm watching "Signs" right now and it looks like the arm of an alien.

Really beautiful...especially the second image where you caught the water drop in mid-air.

The best-tasting icicles of my Eastern childhood hung from the rose bush which climbed the garage wall. We kids were allowed to save one perfect icicle and one big, fat snowball apiece in the deep-freeze until July 4th each year. MIT students used to cultivate giant icicles in the name of research but they usually became dangerously big and the authorities demanded they be removed. It's cold up here in the North State, and we've even had snow, but we're sadly lacking in icicles.

I'm from the East coast & swear icicles near my place never got this cool!!! (bigger, yes, but nowhere near as neat looking!)

Loved the icicle photos. I grew up in the Chicago area and always loved the winter beauty. Thanks for bringing back some memories.
