My fabulous boss took us here for our holiday lunch and what a treat it was, despite the downpour that day! We ate in the small interior room just off the secluded atrium dining area, and it was lovely too. We were surrounded by lovely works of art and our lunches were works of art as well. One of us ordered the lamburger, which was covered in a gorgonzola cheese crumble and it looked heavenly. I had the black cod sandwich with salad and soup, which were spectacular. The boss had a soup, salad and chicken curry sandwich combo and it looked delightful as well. I've been hooked! I can't wait to return on a sunny day soon!

This is the place to go if you want delicious food, excellent service and relaxed suroundings. It has been a treat I most often save for birthdays for me or friends. Looking at the pictures of food made me want to go right away. Don't miss the creme brulle! Best in town!

One of the best restaurants in town in my humble opinion. It's clear to me that they take pride in the food ( cuisine) and service! I love the romantic atmposhere.

This has been one of our favorite places for years. It is a great place to take out-of-town visitors (on a nice day, not today!), who are totally charmed by the atmosphere and the food.

I really love this place. We've been going for many years. I only had one bad meal here (my risotto tasted/smelled like jet fuel, I'm sure something was accidentally spilled into it) and the service is always very nice. And it's so nice sitting out there on a sunny day. It's really a little refuge back there. Just a lovely place, glad you finally got to go!!!

Thanks for writing about this place. There was a mention of the pumpkin soup; but no in-depth detail, what gives?

Arts and Letters is a gem. I've been going there for years. The food quality, the environment quality with the trellis and fountain is what Santa Barbara living is all about. it is perfect for out of town guests. It is hard to find anything on the menu that I don't like. BTW the pumpkin soup is always delcious. The Lockwood de Forest exhibit 40 Days 40 Nights is beautiful.
