Thanks for the beautiful photos and info on the birds. I live by the beach in Carp and always thought they were sandpipers. Learn something new every day!

Nice photos. We have a very active birding community here in our area. Google Santa Barbara Audobon Society and there is tons of info. We have 15 to 30 different surf birds that frequent our area. Sibleys is a good first book. We got Black Skimmers and Royal Terns at Cabrillo Pavillion for the last couple weeks.

Thanks! Nice photos!! and thanks for the lens info. On what camera was the 500mm? It seems quite ungrainy for 400 iso.
