how did Cesar's stand up to my favorite Milpas hole-in-the-wall, El Bajio?

Although I haven't been there for a while, I distinctly remember my last two visits for the same things. 1) the delicious seafood cocktails and 2) the ear splitting live music - it was so loud that my companion was forced to cover her ears. Both occasions were for dinner, perhaps luncheon is quieter.

I haven't encountered any live music during the lunch times. I'm not crazy about very loud music when I'm eating, but I can see it going with the vibe at Cesar's of friends hanging out and unwinding after a long day.

I went there for the first time on Friday night with my husband, who had been there many years ago. He ordered the chorizo torta and seemed to enjoy it. I ordered the chicken taquitos and didn't like them at all so he finished them. The waitress was very friendly and prompt and the seating was nice and open. No live music, they did have what looked like satelite tv playing Spanish Christmas music but not loud at all. My husband did like his torta here better than the lengua torta at Taqueria buen gusto from a few days before that made him sick.
