Hasn't the "Taj Mahal" been there since maybe the 80's or early 90's? When I used to walk by that area back then I used to speculate about the longevity of that structure because of how close to the beach it was...if it's the same place, it's nice to see it still looking so good after all these years. Thanks for the great photos, and for focussing on where I used to live and play for many years. I used to have friends and clients that lived in some of those other beach houses that you shot too, and I spent many a fine sunny day taking work-breaks to jump in the water with the feeding dolphins...fond memories.

I'm loving your trip and photos. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps we could compile a 'best of' trip from north county all the way to south county beaches (from the various EdHat beach photo submissions over the years)? How fun!

What an exceptional photographer you are!! I know from frustration and experience how difficult it is to capture that "perfect moment". Like in the first pic with the light coming through the green wave just as it's about to break. Thanks for sharing your pics with us!

117202: From all appearances it's simply a private property with a creative architect and a client with deep pockets...if anyone knows otherwise please post it.

I'll see if I can get more information and photographs of the Taj Mahal on Edhat soon. My understanding is that it's a compound of several homes. It's located on the beach just south of Santa Claus Lane.
