104477: Excellent points. Thank you for providing this perspective. There are very few things we expect to get for free, yet there is this expectation we can walk in and demand free health care or else complain people are bad for not giving it. Not sure how this came about but I think it is part of a romanticized Saturday Evening Post image of the kindly family doctor who took chickens in payment for healing a sick child. To not carry health insurance is a choice. Choices have consequences and one of them is to not get health care for free. To ask to not pay for health insurance AND demand to get free health care at the same time beats going to the Chumash Casino and putting it on the daily double.
