Today's Whale of the Week is "Ben." Ben is approximately 14 meters and 30 tonnes, has gray patches and white mottling on its dark skin. He enjoys tasty krill, long swims near the beach, semi-annual migrations, and singing "Louie Louie" into submerged microphones.

I have been a volunteer whale counter with this organization for the past two seasons, and I think I speak for all of the counters when I say this is one of the most fulfilling volunteer opportunities I have ever had. If you think you might be interested in volunteering--go for it!!! You won't regret it! I can't wait for the next count to start!
