We took the land shark tour with adult kids a couple of years ago. ALL of us enjoyed it and learned a lot of new things about SB. And it was affordable. I highly recommend it (and I am not connected with it in any way), so just sayin'......

Evidently the Land Shark guides need to brush up on their history. The "Chromatic Gate" has absolutely nothing to do with the Chumash or any of their legends. Before he died in '85, Herbert Bayer designed it as a tribute to local artists, and Paul Mills, at the time a leading gay pride member, ensured in '91 that we all get the pleasure of viewing the faded monstrosity each and every time we pass East Beach.
