Thoughtful and accurate review...enjoyed the article, thank you...though, to enjoy a full overview of Sly's great cuisine, you really must go try their scrumptious weekend breakfast menu, it's superb!

Support your local businesses, not the chains.

I love, love, love this column. The photos really bring your dining experiences to life. Thank you! I also happen to love Sly's. There's something really special about a restaurant where the owners make a real effort to be hosts.

I'm always interested in food that is creative, tasty, and well prepared. I'm a foody, after all. I'm never interested in alcohol, because anyone can open a bottle and pour.

Thanks! What about adding a sentence or two about the ambiance, whether, for instance, the restaurant seems welcoming of people alone or if it's more of a group place or a couple's place? That would be helpful. Those mussels sounded wonderful!

It's nice to be able to enjoy alcohol with a meal. I realize there are some who cannot and respect that. I think that specialty drinks and food/wine pairing is a legitimate part of any eating out experience, based on the restaurant at hand of course. It's simple a matter of personal choice. No need to exclude it, however.

Small world! Just a few days ago an "older" friend of mine said he was part of the original promotion of a drink called the Moscow Mule and it was in a copper mug. He worked for National Distilleries. Imagine my surprise to find that it is still going strong.
