Thanks for the reminder to go to Seaside Gardens. It is such a beautiful place. I followed the link and clicked on their Sales & Events calendar. Apparently, this weekend you not only get to meet the nice folks from the Bird Sanctuary on Sunday, but Seaside Gardens is having a sale...20% off everything with 15% of the net going to the SB Bird Sanctuary. events calendar

90377P, You're in for a real treat! It's lovely there and they have an amazing selection of interesting plants and containers. But mostly it's just fun to take a walk around the property.

I am humbled. Went there at the advice of a friend a while ago and am pleased to report that many of these beautiful gardens are rivaled by our neighbors' yards here in Ellwood and our beautiful neighboring SB.

Drat! I didn't make it there today and I would have liked to have been there for the sale and to contribute to the Bird Sanctuary -- and it's too late now, what with the traffic south from SB. It doesn't say or I didn't see on their web site when they're open. Anyone know the days/hours?

Awww, too bad! I don't know specific hours (strange they don't have it on their website!) but I do know that just from personal experience going there they open fairly early in summer, like maybe 8:30 or 9. I've also been by around 4:30 on the weekends and they have still been open. Hope that gives you a range. It's totally worth the trip.....though nothing is worth the trip through Sunday summertime traffic. Ha!
