Thanks for taking the time to explain the Dodgers experience for SB baseball fans. After a lifetime of visiting *my* stadium (the Oakland Coliseum), I can understand and appreciate the energy that goes into learning the nuances of these old parks. Lots of trial and error... and lots of great (and pitiful) team moments experienced. Vin Scully is the best voice in baseball.

Thanks for your insight; however, I don't agree with your assessment of the Right field pavilion as being full of loud drunk people. My experience out there has been pleasant each and every time I have taken my teenage son and his friends. (we measure games in courses not innings) In my 40+ years of Dodgers games, I have seen 2 fights and but those were in the Loge sections.

Another idea....Elysian Park is right outside the ballpark and you can picnic before a game, it is very nice. This is a great solution for those who either can't afford or prefer to avoid ballpark food.

Thanks for the update 88560. I've had some bad personal experiences out there, but I'm really glad to hear that it has improved! Marc...

Another good way to see a Dodger day game is to take the AmTrak Pacific Surfliner to the LA Union Station. There is a free shuttle bus from the depot to the stadium; just show your game ticket or pay the regular fare of $1.25. The service starts 90 minutes prior to the beginning of the games and ends 45 minutes after the end of the game. Prior to the start the shuttle runs every 10 minutes and approximately every 30 minutes throughout the game. There are also AmTrak discounts available. I do this when I go to see a day game. I get there early, go to Olivares Street or China Town and then head to the stadium. I don’t have to drive and can relax both ways.

Not to break into this "blue" thread, but in reference to the comment above, the same can be said for Angels games. The Amtrak literally drops off into the Angel Stadium parking lot. Curb service!
