Wish you would write a book on the great history that you know, and would love to see you do historical tours on the trolley or walking tours one day!

Thank you for this history, so recent, of the harbor and shoreline area. I remember as a child playing on "fossil" hill above the harbor and finding big clamshells, intact in the mound. Sometime in the 60's? the hill was carted away in order to provide a roadway up to Shoreline and the mesa.. The sandy hillside provided slides and sandpiles for the community children, and it was missed. There a still a few of these fossils in an area near McKinley School.

The horseback riding on the beach looks so fun. I wonder if that's even allowed on the city beaches anymore.

Neal: I remember the Buell Bros. sporting goods store on lower State, and their tackle shop on Sterns Warf. I also remember when the brake water was started. Delighted to meet you at the La Paloma ranch we still farm. Glenn
