Hm. Your situation is remarkably similar to that of my husband, who not only wakes early enough to make my coffee but also keeps our children (relatively) quiet from the blessed hours of 6 to 8 am on weekends, so I can sleep in. Needless to say, I am one grateful woman, and I express that gratitude in many ways. Use your imagination, and happy coffee-making!

What is the problem here? I get up at 4.00 a.m. I make my coffee and then I prepare the coffee-maker for my husband. When he awakens all he has to do is-press the switch..... Serenity reigns.

The fact that you even contemplate the question of whether its fair indicates a problem in your relationship, because there are many many things your wife could be doing for you and probably does, so your sense of resentment probably stems from some underlying problem.

Gee.... do you expect her to wake up at 4am to make it for you? or maybe make it at 3 then hand you a cup when you awake? Sounds kinda selfish to me

I agree with 66926P and 66913. If this is in reality a bona fide question for Edda. clearly there is an underlying tone of dissatisfaction and immaturity in this couple's relationship.

My husband and I have the same exact situation, which after 25 years of marriage, we don't consider a problem. We have separate coffee makers. He makes his at 6 am or whenever he gets up, I have no idea, and I make mine much later.
