I've been seeing these all over town for about a month. The post office needs to lock up their mailing labels.

Someone wants me to wait in line at the Post Office to ask for a locked-up label that should be on the counter?? Just because of some moron tagger?? (sigh!) The terrorists have won.

It's not graffiti if it's removable.

These labels are all over. Another favourite site are the street sweeping signs for these stickers.

They pre make those at home or wherever, and carry a stack around with them. They can peel and stick them as they go. I have seen some people do it before. It is a way to tag during the day without being noticed. They reach into their pocket and slap the pole/electrical box/window/etc, and keep on walking. And you can't peel these off without leaving all the paper mess underneath.

"Hello, my name is" are also used for this kind of tagging. Anything large enough and sticky on the back gets used.

This method has been used for quite sometime. a native of San Francisco, I am surprised it took as long as it did to really make it down here.

Maybe everyone should send a copy of this article to the postmaster and their local branch.

taggers tag to get noticed, talked about, published.....edhat/we all just collaborated in the art/act. hey Slamer...btw, weak, lacks style and control, but crazy color choice This particular tagger hit the blocks around San Roque shopping - this time w 4 ft green tags in the past few days. also this is an individual, not a 'gang' territory tag. Still a drag.

This morning I saw a little tagger on a bike outside my living room window. I heard him shaking his pens trying to get them to work and I looked out and there he was. He wasn't reallly little, a big kid, about 13 years old. I wanted to go grab him by the ear and teach him a lesson, but I didn't see him actually tagging anything, I just saw the tools of the trade. He saw me staring at him and rode away.

Using federal mailing labels in the commission of a crime...wonder what kind of additional charges that could carry?

Wrong. And you sound like you're trying to justify it. Graffiti is "images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property." It is graffiti, it is tagging, it is vandalism and "removable" is subjective. Technically paint is removable too. Boom. Lawyered! Tagging is little more than the weakling dog peeing on a pole to say, "I'm here too!" If you had something worth listening to you'd find a meaningful way of expressing yourself in society.

@233P (or anyone) if/when you see this call the police dispatch (911 takes forever) with a description of the individual and the direction they were headed. The use of postal labels is 'slap tagging'. Theft for the purpose of vandalism and to further promote a gang is not the brightest of ideas.
