Great photos. I guess all it takes is the required 10,000 hours on all fronts, right?

WOW. Great shots Dave!!! Are any of those shots of me???? (just kidding!!!!....at 52 yrs., just riding a wave is the joy.) #4 has a rare perspective....how did you do that? Last shot (#5) looks like HUGE Rincon....wonder what the initial take-off looked like...huge(er)?

Good timing on those shots. #2 makes it look like he's arriving from a different wave, considering how subtle and odd the wake is on the wave below him. For a second I even entertained the notion that he is coming down from an airborne clockwise 360-degree spin, by, at high speed accelerating and turning off the bottom of the wave to the top and punch it to get air and continue a clockwise rotation until you're all the way around. :-)

Yes 55021, 10,000 hours is the critical number. All kinds of great things happen once you've surpassed that number. Comment 55064, photo #4 was shot by walking out on the point and #5 is, indeed, Big Rincon. It was one of those waves that seemed to grow during the ride. Comment 55096, #2 is just a guy getting air. You're overthinking it all. :-) Thanks for all the good comments. D
