My Mom told me a couple years back when she passed on she wanted to come back a surfer. She just turned eighty and I sent my Sister these pictures you took to show her shes going to love them. These are beautiful. Thank You.

I had a feeling you'd like the yawning one-legged gull, Betsy. I had to focus on him long and hard before he'd (a) balance on one leg and (b) yawn. :-) Thank you.

Ya know Rodger I've been trying to learn to surf since the 60's. I try a few times and get frutrated and don't try again for a year or 2. I just may have to be patient like your mom and plan for more athletic ability in my next life.

Has anybody else noticed all the buff, tan men wearing g-strings and thongs on this beach lately? My husband and I must have seen 5 or 6 cases of male "butt floss" last September while walking on the beach. Is this some new fashion trend?

Betsy, I used my 28-300mm lens for all the photos. As for sharpness, I tried going off auto-focus and using manual focus yesterday. Seemed to help me out, but it assumes my eyesight is decent. Maybe you and I are just equally near-sighted. :-) Or is that far-sighted? Thanks for all the nice comments eveyone.

I really enjoy seeing photos like these and so many of the others that have been submitted. I encourage other photographers to submit their work to EdHat too. Don't get discouraged as Ed can't post everything.
