What compels people to pursue relationships with prisoners? Is it the safety of them being locked up & therefore unable to exercise much free will? Just wondering...

Not sure why the Indy would care about this. It's not really local news. More entertainment gossip than news.

Boy.. now there is a gal that needs some self esteem! Question: WHY does our society permit scum balls, like Hollywood, to marry? Prison for life.. who gives a darn if he is miserable AND alone, besides his hairy room mates?

Goes to show that even having life in prison, you can still find love (*cough* money, book deal, movie deal, TV deal, magazine, advertising).

119 - there are realms that we are not privy too - lots of people out there and they all see things differently - whatever floats your boat - he's a captive audience 113 - marrying a state prisoner does not make you anymore eligible for welfare than you were before you married a state prisoner. No need to fan the flames of the unoccupied.

She is determined to portray him as a victim so she can spend her life rescuing him. It gives her a sense of purpose. Reality takes a back seat.

I really don't care about the life of a cold blooded killer. Not sure why the Independant ran this story. He murdered a kid.

Tyler Hayden at the Independent enjoys writing up sensational news stories (if you don't believe me look at his headlines). It's a shame that he's so content to take mainstream media to new lows.

There are plenty of women in relationships with bad guys. Criminals. Not surprising that Jesse could find one interested in him.

150P. That's what made me happy, was reading about no conjugal visits. Why should murderers be allowed to procreate? Keep their seed (women=eggs) out of the gene pool.

I'm with 173P - Glad to hear that Jesse won't be reproducing any time soon. He revoked that right when he caused the death of that young boy. Let's just hope the rules don't change.

That is a crack-up. Yeah, sure, it's true love even though you can only sit for a few hours a week in a PRISON VISITING ROOM!
I also like how Jesse has read the Menendez brother book. That is on an approved prison reading list?

Will wonders never cease? Pretty sick in my book! If an innocent kid hadn't been kidnapped and killed, the lovebird wouldn't be in prison. She can blather all she wants about his innocence, the kidnapping started it all, Hollywood's dictum that got the ball rolling.

whaaa whaaaa what???? This is so crazy to me. Regarding the Alpha Dog movie, I am pretty sure there are a lot of people who have not seen it including me. I was on call for jury duty, had to fill out some questions and go into the court room to see him. They asked about that movie. I had never seen it.

I won't judge her because "different strokes for different folks" but give me a break with the holier than thou Jesse.....hopefully her child is safe at all times and nothing happens to her.

The only conjugal visits he will get is from the guy in the next cell.

She contacted a criminal, corresponded with him and eventually married him? A known convicted murderer who cruelly took another man's life? She must be mad, have an overblown and imaginative passion for publicity, or acting out a long nursed psychotic trip. Whatever it is I'm sorry for her daughter.

They might not have conjugal visits but don't be too sure that she might not carry some seed out of the prison in a tissue paper or little plastic bag. Won't be the first time that has happened.

It is a provocative story/interview and I think there is a place for human interest stories like this. I don't give any credence to comments about him being railroaded but I was surprised at how clear and "normal" her answers were. I have this impression of that kind of person being so insecure and needy but she was surprisingly candid and collected. Who knows what in the world goes into the make-up of these women who seek out prisoners to love, a deficiency or lack of confidence, or something worse?
