If you want the street back you'll have to take it from the gangbangers who have enjoyed freedom of movement, because the City of SB cares more about the rights of gangbangers to freely associate, their civil liberties, etc. and therefore the cops hands are tied to effectively deal with it. Try to get a gang injunction and you're a racist. So here's the solution. Get a baseball bat. Park it next to yourself on the porch. Have a phone tree for all the neighbors and call them up when a suspicious gangbang type is hanging around. Get out there with six or seven husbands with bats and hammers. Beat that knife out of their hand and then one whack to the head. Bury the SOB in the hills. Alive of course. Otherwise the gangbangers will continue to take more and more of our streets. It's time they started getting what's coming to them, which is what they have been dishing out for years. Babe Ruth for the line drive to the head.

634 - as horribly violent as your suggestion is, I have to agree. It really will take the community to get any action done. If you see a gang member causing any trouble, don't wait for the police on their $4000 tricycles to scoot on over to help. Get a bat and start swinging!

One less anchor baby to fund... Now the war on the streets of SB truly begins. Please remember to keep hiring and renting to illegal aliens because their kids are such outstanding and grateful citizens in our community. These stellar individuals not only spray paint graffiti and etch all over our community, they stab, steal and intimidate law abiding residents while receiving free education, health care, section 8 housing vouchers, but their poor parents are simply trying to provide a better life for their children... and now look - shooting each other dead a block from SBHS and Senior Housing, and the Police Dept. Great job mom and dad. Great job landlords renting to these families. Great job employers providing jobs. Bravo Bravo!! I can't wait to be caught in the middle of a gun battle while walking with my 4yr old in downtown SB.

Where's George Zimmerman when we need him... . Oh, but we just don't understand these troubled youth. Yea Right! Shoot 'em all, including the privileged white wanna-be-gangstas from Monticito. When the cost of being a gangster outweighs the benefits you will see them disappear into history.
