Sea hares have a lot of personality. Be careful not to stress them, though. Very common here.

Leave tide pool animals be. Humans tend to have chemicals on their hands: cologne, soap, sunblock, perfume, lotions. Who knows what kind of harm you do when you pick up these sensitive saltwater inhabitants. Leave them alone.

Sea hares are so exotic. Thanks for sharing and handling gently.

Wouldnt want to stress an animal that lives in the surf impact zone would we? Wouldn't want to show kids our amazing environment would we? We humans were born to stay inside and not interact with our environment lest we upset the mythical balance of nature that some believe we are apart from.

Handle anything that has a slime layer, like the sea slug -if you must handle it - with wet hands so the protective slime doesn't get damaged by your dry hands and expose the creature to bacteria. Same for frogs and salamanders.
