Actually, I think they were smuggling illegal drugs or people. Might not be a bad idea to start beefing up patrols of beaches at night?

So, I guess criminals unloading their contraband on our beaches is ok? Is anyone else a little bothered by how "close to home" this is?

It cracks me up when Homeland Security is investigating when our government doesn't really seem to care that all these people from south of the border sneak into our country and do nothing about it!

Looks like Roger wasn't the only one picking his nose. Seems that a whole bunch of folks at Homeland Security have been sitting around doing the same thing. At least Roger can multi-task. We love you Roger.

So many were quick to shoot down the poster from this morning about this boat. It does make me uneasy to think it came ashore so close to "home".

Coast Guard boat and crew are parked at the dock in front of Brophys 90% of the time. When they do go out, they usually just hassle the local boaters. Colossal waste of resources.

My guess is that is wasn't a park employee but rather a resident park host that discovered it. No county employees awake and about that early - not until 7:30 at the earliest.

Let's focus on the evil panga that is the root of our troubles. If we only had a panga buy-back program. That would eliminate the surplus panga floating around causing the destruction of mankind. People would then not be lured to get in them and transport themselves, their drugs and the lovely trail of trash they leave for others to clean up. But, thank God it wasn't great gobs of cigarette butts in 20 x 8 ft spaces all over the beach. Phew.

"Panga" means boat; it's a particular design. Saying "panga boat" is the same thing as saying, a "boat boat" was found.

The fact that the Panga had one motor makes me think it was a boat full of people. They found clothes near by as well.

Don't all of you realize, these people are being absorbed into our neighborhoods? I am sure they had cell-phones and called relatives/friends to meet them, and they will be in line for all the freebies that us tax payers foot the bill for. We need to demand from our representatives and congressmen that the Navy radar notify the Coast Guard and local law enforcement when they spot these boats. They have to see them, they have to pass San Diego, Point Mugu, etc., and no-one sees them???? What about satellite pictures? That is unbelieveable!
