i vote the pickup came out off the side st, and pushed the black sedan into the mini...which was waiting to turn left.

633, I think there'd be a lot more damage if the truck hit the black sedan hard enough to turn it around like that. I think the black sedan tried to make it across State in a gap in traffic, mistimed it, and the pickup and sedan sideswiped trying to avoid each other, and then hit the Mini.

I think the Smart Meter on the white house sent a signal to the computers in all three vehicles telling them to mix it up. Oh! Those pesky Smart Meters!

All 3 were talking on their cell phones and didn't see anyone coming at them.

I can tell you it won't matter. All of the insurance companies are going to fight forever. And it will suck the most for the car that was hit head on that was stopped because she wasn't at fault but will have to pay out of pocket and wait around the at fault party to pay for her deductable and rental car. I got hit while parked just a half a block away during Fiesta and I am still waiting for someone to pay for my damages!

Thank you for the comments Edhat readers; though I am often humor impaired, these responses brought a smile to me. Seems as if this area of State has been prone to more accidents lately - am uncertain why.

@711P: IHOP is two blocks away from State & Pedregosa. I think people are going in there and eating too many chocolate chip pancakes and syrupy delights, thereby overdosing on sugar, then getting in their cars and driving. Their blood sugar goes out of control, causing the drivers to get into accidents. The cops should routinely do BSC (blood-sugar count) levels anywhere near places like IHOP, Baskin-Robbins and the See's Candy store.

As a pedestrian who often walks across State at this intersection (and sometimes drives across same), I can tell you this is one of the worst intersections as far as drivers speeding through and not paying attention. Trying to cross here in a car is a lot like jumping off a cliff into a body of water. You wait, you look and look. You take a deep breath, scrunch up your nether orifice, and you just go for it.
