Thanks Roger, for all the updates. I imagine it could really come down tonight; it's looked foreboding off and on all day. My PSA: Check out the Concert for Sandy Relief. One heck of a lineup. http://www.youtube.com/fuse?feature=inp-gh-twe

Roger: Rain causing the flooding or water main break? We are near Modoc/Las Positas and no rain here at all. Flooding?

Yeah, I heard it was raining hard in Goleta and figured it would move promptly into SB. It's so minimal near Cottage that I still have a window open, and I think it's stopped now. Weird. Glad y'all are enjoying the concert. The Who blew me away; Daltrey is amazing. heck, he's baby faced! and that torso! And Moon "participating" was so touching. Eddy Vedder with Roger Waters was wonderful; I love his singing. (Rogers: talk about the other best matured rock star! That is one handsome man.) sorry, got carried away with my threadjack. :-)

And I loved the CHP report about 154/ Painted Cave. How often does one see "fog line" as part of a law enforcement location description? (Seems someone got a flat tire in a collision with a boulder. No injury. Cal Trans sweeper/blade truck was dispatched.) Newest CHP report: Us101 N / Us101 N Refugio Rd Ofr 8:25 PM 2 [4] PREVIOUSLY 2 LANES ONLY VEHS UNABLE TO PASS- NOW 3 LANES VEHS ABLE TO PASS - BUT WILL BE 2 LANES AGAIN SHORTLY 8:24 PM 1 [2] 3 SEMIS - 1 SEMI ONG PLT 4GY5974 And mud, dirt & rock at 0 SR 150, Cal Trans enroute.

That storm fizzled, darn it. I managed, amazingly enough, to see a stunning meteor at 4:15 a.m. Just happened to look out; it was huge, brilliant, an extremely bright white trail. Gemenid? I know it's on, but haven't looked up where it's visible from. Guess I was just lucky.

@ YIN YANG - The "fog line" is the technical term for the painted line on the outside of the lane. So, in other words, for roadway striping you have the center line, lane lines (if there are multiple lanes) and the fog line at the edge. It's called that because you can use it if it's foggy to keep in on the road.
