I can't believe the money and trouble being spent on the trial of this punk who came in behind the victim and slit his throat in such a cowardly manner.

Yeah, those damned legal rights. We should be able to pick and choose who gets them and who does not.

I hate to criticize, but edit much? From the article, "The placement of tattoos can cause fear or intimidation by the general public, Morris added." How about "in" or "of" instead of "by"?

The figure of speech "behind the 8 ball" existed for a very long time before it became a euphemism for an 1/8 ounce of drugs. 324's comment is valid and I agree with it. It does NOT excuse Robles' action, but the kid was pretty much doomed from the beginning. Criticizing the use of "literally" is grammatically accurate, but is not going to be too effective online. Or you could try explaining it instead of being snarky. Start the flaming.

True. I should have said ' an eight ball is not only a pool term but also a euphemism.....' Either way, he started life snookered.

Poor guy never had a chance at a good life, eh? Why not then incarcerate for life all children of junkies, dealers, gangbangers, sterilize em, since they will never become contributing members of society. I'm constantly amazed at the narrow mindedness of some of our 21st century society.
