So, how many other pieces of property in the back country and elsewhere does the SBUSD own? Why aren't they liquifying this kind of assest in these incredibly difficult budgetary situations? They will hand out huge numbers of pink slips to the teaching staff, propose larger class sizes, cutting of programs and hire new administrators at the district level when they are sitting on who knows how many assets!

686 I'm guessing the idea is that if the area ever becomes developed, they will have a place to put a school or schools. But I'm on your side - the possibility of this is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly far off in the future that it's silly for them to keep it around.

So why didn't they have meetings with the SBUSD BEFORE removing the fire rings & tables? It always seems to be more about reducing liability and workload than "Service" for the forest users...

How bizarre that SBUSD owns land in this area. It's not near anything, it really is way off the beaten track.

Chances are they bought it a LONG time ago for way less than the property goes for now. Should they sell now and have to rebuy when needed, they will loose money on the deal
