If I were to see this in my house, I think I would have a major panic attack!

Could those possibly be maggots?

You needed these last night! Seriously I agree with the other poster. If these are really inside your house, and you plan to sleep there tonight I'd be putting up a mosquito netting, or just going to a motel and calling an exterminator first thing in the morning.

If you really want to know what these are, I would call the SB Museum of Natural History and ask for the bug guy there---get his email and send him the pic. Those people are nice and quite prompt with replies.

What you have looks to me like some larvae that will eat something you don't want them to eat in your house. I hope by now you have taken the blinds outside and washed off (gently) the little guys.

No need for exterminator. That's just silly and costly and you don't want to poison your environment.

There are a couple of larvae they look like, but seeing that they are on your blinds they are most likely a house moth larvae instead of a carpet beetle larvae.

What this tells you is that you don't clean your house often or thoroughly enough.

Oh YUCK I had a lot of centipedes when I lived in Jersey - they are common there - and they were yellow. This looks like maggots or something. Call an exterminator!!! Plus they'd be able to tell you what it is.

Possibilities:

1. Larder Beetle
2. Carpet Beetle
3. Cockroach

I just spoke with an entomologist at SB Museum of Natural History, and he thinks they are Tiger Moth larvae.
Pretty cool! I will try to relocate them outdoors. Here's why:

While some moths, particularly caterpillars such as the corn earworm, are major agricultural pests, many others are important pollinators. "Their hairy bodies make moths great pollinators — they pick up pollen from any flower they land on," Moskowitz said.

Moth-pollinated flowers tend to be fragrant and white, such as the yucca plant. Plants with these features allow nocturnal moths to easily find flowers after dark.

Some moths pollinate by day. Hummingbird moths hover in front of flowers and unfurl their long tongues to sip nectar; they feed on a variety of flowers, including bee balm, honeysuckle and verbena.
