Tell how you got it down not only intact, but I am presuming that you were not stung.

The difference between you and I, is that I would leave these nests be. The wasps are beneficial to your garden and here you are, obliterating all their hard work. Sigh.

Yes, by all means let them "bee" and be forced to play keep out and off while you have to make a well timed dash into your front or rear doors. Yes, leave them "bee" while you and or a loved one or guests are deathly allergic to them and must carry medication everywhere they go. By all means leave them alone particularly around your animals that can get stung repeatedly by the always angry insects. Now I understand that every insect has a purpose, but not attached to the house or vegetation nearby where people and animals have to live.

Looks empty(no larvae) This from purdue.edu: Most home owners do not realize that wasp nests are cleaned out each fall by the wasps themselves. The empty nests contain nothing but the outside paper shell at that time. This too will break down and disintegrate through the winter. Wasps never re-use the same nest from season to season, so letting mother nature take care of them through time, is usually the best control method we have.
