928, maybe so. But I've personally known no less than 3 chronic alcoholics in my life who NEVER got into their car after even one drink, even at the height of their tolerance (one had to have 10 drinks to even get buzzed.) Drunk drivers are often a different breed than people who feel like they "need" a drink. And I say, a bit of humiliation for recklessly endangering an entire community of people is pretty darn appropriate.

My father was killed by a drunk driver as was his father. I don't have any patience for drunk drivers. They are all potential murderers as far as I am concerned.

@821 Perhaps excessive public humiliation might drive someone to feel like they need a drink or two. But go on and do it your way. I'm sure if you tar and feather someone they would never drink again.

Fact is that she appears to be learning. I don't condone DUIs but do know that we all, including myself, make dumb mistakes. Have you never driven after 2 drinks? For some of us 2 drinks is enough to be over the legal limit. I have, not in any recent year, but long ago and I didn't realize that I was too buzzed to drive at the time.

821 If you got a dui anywhere in the world. Nobody would know! Just because she is a person that a lot of people know doesn't mean that people should bash her. She will Pay for her mistakes out of pocket and in the public. People make mistakes everyday, some learn, some don't, but that's for them to decide. People drive drunk all the time and most don't get pulled over. If she learns from her mistake then she should get support and if she doesn't then jail is for her, in a different form of support.

As far as I'm concerned, people who want to "bash" Cat should if they care to spend the energy doing it. Drunk driving isn't a joke. It's even less of a joke when the person drives down the Pass intoxicated. Public humiliation is the very least that she deserves, what are your reasons for defending someone who endangers others' lives, 800P?

I tasted the Outback Steak House chowder, as well as every other chowder at the fest. The judges made a good choice!

Wow nothing better to do than to bash her? Rumor is that she has been getting treatment since the incident happened... she's still my favorite Iron Chef! :)

767P: No answer to your questions, and I don't eat any shellfish (or other meat), but it was a bit interesting to see Cat on KEYT last night. I finally got a peek at this "local celebrity." How sad to be hooked on alcohol.

How about posting some of the wining recipes? Hey, did Cat Cora ever settle up over her DUI problem? Was it the typical, slap on the celebrity wrist?
