Maybe Public Works could replace the old street signs while they're at it. The signs for all the streets that cross Milpas--Gutierrez, Haley, etc.--are so faded you can't read them at all.

It is too bad that the negative behavior of just a handful of of jackleg drivers adversely affects pedestrian safety and reduces the smooth egress of traffic by having to remove a driving lane. We all just simply need to share the roads with the safety of EVERYONE as the primary goal.

How shameful that the only way to get drivers to slow down is to make the streets more narrow and full of stripes, signage and obstacles.

Milpas St now is a definitely unfriendly pedestrian experience. 2 lanes of traffic in each direction. I've always thought that a center median with mature shade trees and one lane of traffic with pullouts for buses would make a huge difference.
