and I can't prevent a double post... I'm spoiled by boards that allow editing and deletions. Ed, you can take out the earliest one. I'm going to go blush.

This was planned and had posters all around town..and anyone who read them knew it was going to happen...so NOT a flash mob...however totally cool and fun, and a great tradition! Cudos to all who were there..and especially the organizers. You totally rocked it!

I'm glad to hear it was something organized to go longer than the typical 10-15mins flash mob. I would hate to get all made up only to have fun with it for a flash. Cool beans....

This one DEFINITELY was planned. It was part of Thrill the World, which involved over 20,000 people, worldwide, dancing the exact same version of Thriller, at exactly the same time (beat-for-beat via simulcast). World Dance S.B. put it together & we raised over $10,000 for the Santa Barbara Foundation. THEN we went all over town doing flashmobs. Did eleven in all yesterday & there's more undead dancing to come......bwahahaha!

It was not a flash mob. People have meeting at dance studio's and the YMCA practicing . It was planned and they had a sound system. It is done around the world at the same time. It is very cool

I think what 338 means is that a flash mob is supposed to somewhat blend in with everybody and then at the same time do their thing, surprising people that aren't involved. There most likely wasn't a surprise element considering they were all in costume when they showed up. Cool thing to do though!

338 may mean this flash mob is not like Rocky Horror and its cult movement. IF that's what you mean, how does it differ? ("insomniacs asking questions" is the name of the game right now, for me) Yeah, I imagine with so many MJ adorers and fans and that song & dance, this may well last a long time as a yearly event. It would be fun and exercise, like I fantasize about getting in shape by training to dance in the Solstice parade. I've fantasized about that for many years! ha ha

338, explain? IMHO, harmless Halloween fun is harmless.

Do you think this thriller thing will be like the "Rocky Horror Picture Show," and continue for many, many years? Anything that gets people together like this, and "thrills" them, is just way too cool.
